About Us
Welcome to Troop 44!
Troop 44 is a very active Scouts BSA Troop with a committed membership, involved parent leadership, and a diverse outdoor program.
We take canoe trips down the Sacramento River, we backpack in the High Sierra, we camp in snow caves, we rock climb and take long mountain bike camping trips. We have explored the top of Half Dome, have had adventures in Alaska, sailed a historic wooden schooner in the San Juan Islands, and traveled throughout Oregon.
We are a scout-run troop fostering leadership skills and responsibility, and we are concerned about the development of each scout's character.
Girls in Scouts BSA
Recently, Troop 44 helped charter a new girls troop. Troop 4044, a "linked" troop with Troop 44, is comprised of girls who have and have not had Cub Scouting experience. They are open to all girls who are interested in a well-rounded scouting experience including rank advancement, skills development, and a robust outdoor program. Troop 4044 meets at the same time and location as Troop 44 and participates in all the same events and activities. They adhere to the same values and structure as Troop 44 and, together, we all learn from each other. Once a quarter, both Troops are given the opportunity to plan and execute separate outdoor program trips to help foster bonding on a specific troop/patrol based level.
